When you have won the English FA Cup, UEFA Cup, Scottish League title, Scottish League Cup, and been capped by your country, there cannot be many challenges that would excite a 57-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur captain.

England international Graham Roberts is patron of Centre Algarve, Europe’s only dedicated holiday centre solely for people with special needs. Thanks to years of tireless effort by volunteers from across the world, Centre Algarve, which is situated near Moncarapacho, has now received its operating certificate from the local authority. Graham will be cycling from Malaga on a 400+kms adventure starting at Malaga Football Club on the 8th October when another Spurs Legend, Ossie Ardiles, will start the event as he covers the first few kilometres on his moped!! Graham will lead a team of five cyclists – John Parkhouse, Jack Parkhouse, Ash Mahoney and Lee Roswell – on the epic ride up through Spain before crossing the Guadiana river at Ayamonte for the final leg. The intrepid adventurers are due to arrive at Centre Algarve on the 15th October.

Graham Roberts said, “This will be the longest and most challenging bike ride that any of us have done. The Centre is fully equipped to allow people with special needs, young and old, to experience a wonderful holiday with their family or carers. We have created an environment where everybody feels comfortable, safe and secure within our wonderful grounds. A magical and unique holiday centre where fun and memories are created. To help us open up the centre to even more deserving special needs guests, please, please sponsor our team of cyclists and help us reach our target.” The Spurs Legends have played Walking Football against Soccer Olhanense Strollers for the past two years and will be playing them again next April.
