East Algarve Walking Football staged its first Golf Day at the impressive Benamor Golf Course, Conceição de Tavira last Saturday.
Under a clear blue sky twenty players participated in the Texas Scramble tournament that produced a very tight finish with Team Conceição of Rob Cheshire, Gordon Howard-Goldsmith, Tom French and Harald Heil taking first place.
Just a whisker behind, on count-back, was Team Tavira with Margaret Coleman, Henrik Misiorny, Michael Storman, and Andy Smith.
Organiser Henrik Misiorny was full of praise for the quality of play that ensured a competitive finish with the hope that future events would bring together more members of the walking football family.
The presentation of commemorative bottles of wine to the top two teams was made following a convivial late lunch at the Hairy Lemon Restaurant & Bar, Conceição de Tavira.
