Mature Millers Walking Football (from Rotherham, Yorkshire) this week made their third annual pilgrimage to the Algarve and were once again hosted by East Algarve Walking Football.

A lively 3-hour session on the astro-turf pitch in Tavira involved eight teams — Millers (2), Browns Vilamoura and EAWF (3) — and with three games to go any one of four teams could have won the day with the eventual victors EAWF Tavira taking the honours.

Tommy Charlton, younger brother of Jack Charlton and Sir Bobby Charlton, was in the Millers team, whilst EAWF had seven nationalities in their ranks.

Another session, this time in Olhão, later in the week further strengthened the bond between the clubs.
